The Adventure Park at Harpers Ferry has recently expanded, adding 3 more Adventure Courses! One of the courses we added is for 4-6 year old's, so we have something for everyone! There are now 9 courses, 108 elements, and a new kids tree house for 2015.

Only one hour from the DC and Baltimore Metro Regions, River Riders also offers white water rafting, tubing, canopy tour/ zip lines, kayaking, canoeing, and mountain biking on the beautiful Shenandoah and Potomac Rivers (class I-III) in Harpers Ferry, West Virginia where Maryland, Virginia and West Virginia come together. The Adventure Park was built by Woodmen Group, an Adventure Park builder with 20 years of experience in Europe building Adventure Parks and other challenge elements. The course is built to ACCT (Association of Challenge Course Technology) standards and is licensed by the State of West Virginia Division of Labor.

Woodmen Group Adventure Parks are a unique blend of elevated wooden platforms high in trees connected by Indiana Jones bridges, Tarzan swings and zip-lines providing fun and adventure. Participants age 4 and up can move safely at their own pace through the various self guided aerial trails, choosing the paths that fit their own challenge level.

While being in nature, everyone experiences challenges, thrills, personal growth, and most of all, fun. Use of the most advanced safety system in the industry ensures that everyone’s harness is clipped into the safety lines at all times.

Edelrid Smart Belay

The Adventure Park uses the Edelrid Smart Belay system for improved participant safety. Smart Belay- A revolution in the self belaying product sector. Belaying with conventional self protection systems still carries the risk that the park visitors can completely detach themselves from the safety system. The Revolutionary EDELRID Smart Belay provides the Adventure Park operator with an interactive Pulley Carabiner System providing more safety and raising security for Park visitors to a new level. If one carabiner is open the other carabiner realizes this, and when being utilized properly, will not open until the other carabiner is clipped and closed on the safety cable. Only then, using the accepted utilization methods, can the other arabiner be unclipped. An accidental complete unclipping is, under proper product usage, virtually impossible. The pulley wheels in the carabiner head replace the double pulley, reduce wear and assists easier movement along the cable. The slick ergonomic design of the Smart belay allows easy operation by children and adults alike. The Smart belay with integrated shock absorber (EN355; 6kN) can replace other rescue devices. The Smart belay received the Outdoor industry award "Innovative product 2009" for this revolutionary self belaying concept.
