Our white water tubing trip includes a journey through the historic town of Harpers Ferry. Participants will have the opportunity to appreciate the natural beauty of the Harpers Ferry water gap and the rock formations of Maryland and Loudon Heights while floating on a tube. The white water section on the Potomac River ranges from class I to III, depending on the water levels, and typically lasts 1-3 hours, with an average duration of about 2 hours.
White water tubing is a nature activity, not a water park. Water levels and the environment can change. You will paddle through obstacles like rocks, shallow areas, flat water, and rapids. This trip is challenging and recommended for those at least 10-12 years old, 5 feet tall, and in good physical condition seeking adventure.
Our white water tubing trips are generally enjoyable, but they may not suit everyone. For those seeking a more tranquil experience, a flat water Shenandoah River tubing trip may be a better choice. Additionally, please consider the full-day tubing option.

River Riders offers high-quality vinyl (PVC) tubes specifically designed for river use. We offer a variety of models to accommodate our guests’ needs.
The Standard Tube is made of a heavy gauge vinyl fabric designed for river use. It is more durable and comfortable compared to a basic black rubber tube, and it also has handles.
The Deluxe vinyl tube is designed for river use and is made from a heavy gauge vinyl fabric. It is both comfortable and durable compared to the basic tube. The Deluxe tube includes handles, a seat bottom, a cup holder, and a backrest. It costs $5 more to rent than the standard vinyl tube.
The Tube Tracker is made of heavy gauge vinyl fabric. It is designed for river use and offers more comfort compared to the standard tube. It comes with a light-duty paddle, handles, seat bottom, cup holder, and backrest. Renting the Tube Tracker is $5 more expensive than renting the deluxe vinyl tube.

The price for renting a cooler tube is $19 per tube.
We have a Tubing Season Pass available. The season pass is valid from Memorial Day through Labor Day, Thursdays-Sundays, 10:30 AM – 2:30 PM.
