Pyranha S6x

S:6 footage from team paddler
Little Dave Garringer!!!

OFFICIAL info and images of the s6x! Forget all the gossip you may have heard or seen, here is the real deal.

So what's it all about and what's new? Well, put simply it's a cutting edge, aggressive freestyle kayak, but I guess you know that much already!

S6x is based around the S6 design (which is also available) but modified and aimed more at the upper end of the intermediate to advanced paddlers' skill range who have the ability to drive a boat aggressively through modern dynamic aerial moves.

Uniquely, the s6x offers the ability to change the dynamics of the boat for specific features and paddling styles as required. However, at the moment, because of UK patent application rules we are not allowed to show you this key feature until the application is finished. While we can appreciate your wish to see everything, we have to finish off the registration before we can show you, hence all the secrecy around the s6x!

This slight delay will not hold up production of the boats...it's just a condition of taking out the patent.

So here is what we can show you. The images are computer generated and give you a good idea of what the s6x looks like:

Key features:

  • Optimised volume distribution: The knee area is moved slightly further forward giving greater ability to trim your weight forward and stay comfortable. The rear volume is placed behind the cockpit to balance the boat out.

  • Aggressive front and rear rocker: Giving dynamic lift = effortless hops, skips and big air moves.

  • 2nd generation "power pockets": Give maximum lift, control and stability during your looping moves but also maximise internal room for your legs.
  • Full syncro outfitting: Widely regarded as setting the standard again for this year - our syncro outfitting is fully adjustable and gives maximum control and comfort.

  • Slightly wider bow: Gives precision initiation and cartwheeling as well as huge blunt potential.
  • Sharper, flatter double rails: Allow controlled drive through carves allowing energy to be built up and then released for dynamic air moves.
You also have the option of ordering the s6x "Optimiser" add on pack which contains the following parts that allow you to customise the set up of the 6x which greatly affects the performance envelope for different conditions and styles of paddling and the bits we can't show you just yet!
  • The key feature to the wider and adjustable performance envelope of the s6x is, unfortunately the bit we can't show you just yet!

  • Interchangeable fins: The fins have two locations under the hull to allow you to get them under your centre of gravity with different seat positions, and on the sides as green grabbers for steep waves or super hard over carving. Our fin system is also compatible with other Watersports industry standard systems ( wakeboards etc ), giving you further ability to customise your fin size and set up.

  • Power Pocket enhancers: Simple enhancers fasten on to the top of the standard power pocket and provide more of a captive scoop and increase the catch of the power pocket. Therefore it is assistance to you when you're looking for that extra air in your loops.

Here are the pre production tech spec estimates. PLEASE USE THEM AS A GUIDE ONLY! The three boats in the range will give you the ability to pick the volume that matches your weight for your requirements:

    Model Volume Length Width Weight
            US Gal. ft/in in. lbs.
    185 42.3 6'1" 24 30.8
    195 50.2 6'4" 25 31.9
    205 57 6'7" 26 34.1
