Day 1 If you're camping, we'll drive you to Oldtown and start your 25 mile ride to Little Orleans. Along the way you’ll see the confluence of the North and South Branch of the Potomac, and the 3118 foot long Paw Paw Tunnel. (Don't forget your flashlight.) That evening, you'll camp at Little Orleans.

For “inside” accommodations, you'll start your trip at Paw Paw and cruise through the 3118 foot long Paw Paw Tunnel. (Don't forget your flashlight.) You'll also see several historical aquaducts and the confluence of the Cacapon River and the Potomac River. Ride to Hancock for your evening lodging. We'll drop off your gear for you at your hotel.

Day 2 We’ll pick you up at Hancock or Little Orleans and take you to Dam 4 where you’ll travel another 25 miles to Harpers Ferry. Along the way you’ll see several caves including Dam 4 Cave, Killiansburg Cave, and John Brown's Cave. You'll also pass beautiful and historic Shepherdstown and the Harpers Ferry Gap. That evening you can camp at Huckelberry Hill or arrange accommodations of your choice in Harpers Ferry.

Day 3 We'll take you to Seneca Creek where you'll bike 25 miles from Seneca Creek to Georgetown including Seneca Creek Aquaduct, Great Falls of the Potomac and Mather’s Gorge finishing at the Georgetown Visitor’s Center. A great finish to a great trip. Remember, these are just our suggestions. If you have something specific in mind, let us help arrange it for you.

River Riders will gladly help arrange other trips for you as well.
</field_description_value>

Paddle & Pedal Rafting Packages

    <field_location_value>Harpers Ferry, WV</field_location_value>
    <field_guided_value>Yes rafting, biking by advanced request only</field_guided_value>
    <field_description_value>
Enjoy the Historic District of Harpers Ferry, and the rapids of the Shenandoah River. One of your days will start off with a l/2 day biking tour of the Historic District of Harpers Ferry. The scenic half day trip starts at our waterfront campground. From there follow a country path to Harpers Ferry. You can stay in town and enjoy all that Harpers Ferry has to offer or cross the pedestrian bridge to the C & O canal before returning to our campground for the shuttle back to River Riders. All of our bikes are manufactured by Specialized Bicycle Components and are the best available for rent in the area. The trip includes all gear and shuttle transportation.

On the other day, you will experience the exciting whitewater trip down the rapids of the Shenandoah River in a guided raft. Our most popular adventure and a guest favorite through the years, this whitewater rafting trip down the last reaches of the Shenandoah River includes slow water solitude and whitewater action. In slow water watch for ospreys, great blue herons, and bald eagles; enjoy the beauty of the Blue Ridge; and talk with your raftmates. But be ready for thrills and spills as you charge over “Bull Falls” and whoosh through “Bull’s Tail”, before heading through the Shenandoah’s mile-long “Staircase” rapid. Take in the history and scenery of the Shenandoah River as you float past Harpers Ferry National Historic Park between the soaring cliffs of Maryland and Loudon Heights, where you join the mighty Potomac. On the Potomac watch out for the snarl of the “Mad Dog” and hold onto your boots as you ride the wild “White Horse.” This beautiful and exciting trip is for everyone: beginners to seasoned guests! (Class I-III)

The trips can also be combined into one day.

All trips include necessary transportation and equipment.
</field_description_value>
