Some of you are from out of town and are interested in lodging. We have primitive camping available on site. Each year many of our staff camp here throughout the summer. You are welcome to do this as well. We don't have any dormatory style lodging available.

If you are a citizen of a foreign country, you must have all work permits, passports and visas BEFORE applying to River Riders.

River Riders is a drug-free workplace.

Full-Time or Part-Time Guides.

Full-time guides must be available to work on any day throughout the summer season... April through October unless you are in school. If you are in school, you must be available any day between school semesters. Full-time guides must also make themselves available for off-river work if requested. Scheduling preference is given to full-time guides. You are also eligible for performance bonuses.

Part-time guides are available on a more limited basis. If you can't commit to the above requirements, you'll be considered Part-Time. Part-timers must provide us with dates that they are available and make themselves such on the days agreed to. There is plenty of work for any part-timers on weekends and many weekdays, but our first preference is to give this work to our full-time staff. You are also eligible for performance bonuses if you complete at least 25 trips during the season.

Non-committal guides are available on a more limited basis. If you want to guide, but your schedule doesn't allow you to guarantee us any availability, you're considered non-commital. There is plenty of work for on weekends and many weekdays, but our first preference is to give this work to our full-time staff and part-time staff. Bonuses are not available for this position.

Please check River Guide or Zip Line Guide. You can choose to apply for both. Please Check if you are available on a part-time, full-time, or noncommittal basic. *Hours vary according to demand.

River and Zip guides can also apply to be Camp Staff. If you are interested in camp please check this box as well.

What dates are you available this season?

Which Training Session is best?

For river guides: We have multiple spring time training sessions. The first session is held on weekends only and begins April 28, 2012. This session runs for three consecutive weekends. The other sessions begin Saturday May 5, 12, 19, 2012. Unlike the earlier sessions, here we have classes every day and you would be required to attend each class. These session take about 1 week to complete. The state of West Virginia requires 12 training trips which can be completed in 6 days, additional training with be required if neccesary. We also hire staff all summer. We will offer additional classes as needed throughout the spring and summer. Dates will be arranged. Although we do need some staff early and it gives you a "leg up" on later trainees, we only need a limited number. Most work is part-time until mid-June. Please keep this in mind if you plan to start early.
For Zipline guides: We have training sessions starting as needed. We'll let you know when the next training session begins after reviewing your application.

(i.e. Swift Water Rescue, Ropes Course Experience, etc.)
