white water rafting on the Shenandoah River in Harpers FerryWhite water rafting trips on the Needles  Section of the Potomac River include slow water solitude and white water waves. In calm water, watch for ospreys, great blue herons, and bald eagles. Enjoy the beauty of the Blue Ridge and talk with your raft mates while you enjoy a leisurely paddle. Be ready for waves and white water as you go through a series of rapids in the Needles. Take in the history and scenery of the Potomac River as you float past Harpers Ferry National Historic Park and into the confluence, where The Shenandoah River joins the mighty Potomac between the soaring cliffs of Maryland and Loudon Heights! Watch out for the snarl of the “Mad Dog” and hold onto your boots as you ride the wild “White Horse.” This beautiful and exciting trip is for everyone! (Class I-III)
