**Please keep in mind, white water tubing is a nature activity, this is not a water park. Water levels and water environment can fluctuate. Your trip will involve paddling in and around obstacles, through shallow areas, flat water and white water rapids. This trip can be a challenging activity, therefore it is recommended for those in good physical condition looking for an adventurous experience.

We're bringing you more time AND distance with our privately owned put-in, located upstream of those of our competitors! This is 30% more tubing, at no additional cost! How does this break down for you? More time on the water with your friends, and more distance on the beautiful scenic stretches of the 'Mac. What MORE could you ask for? The extra distance will add an average of 1/2 an hour to an hour extra to your trip. All trip times depend on water levels and personal pace. River Riders is THE Original Harpers Ferry tubing company, with over 3 decades of experience! On a sizzling summer day, there’s nothing as refreshing as floating down the river in a tube. No other area outfitter can compare to the experience, quality, comfort, and value of tubing with River Riders!

Our most popular adventure, Tubing on Your Own gives you the freedom to go wherever your tube takes you. The trip includes a tube, PFD (personal floatation device), free shuttle transportation, and parking.

The White Water trip passes by the historic town of Harpers Ferry, where Maryland, Virginia, and West Virginia come together. Enjoy the beauty of the Harpers Ferry water gap and rock formations of Maryland and Loudon Heights from a tube! The exciting class I-III white water section on the Potomac River (depending on water levels) lasts 1-3 hours (about 2 hours on average). All self-guided white water tubers should be at least 10 to 12 years old and a minimum of about 5 feet tall. We reserve the right to change the minimum age due to water conditions.
Be aware that this trip is "on your own", therefore there will be no staff members present while you're on the river. Guides are available for groups of 10 or more ($39 per person) and must be requested at the time of reservation.

Recommendations:
All tubers should be in good health and physically active. Those exceeding their ideal weight range by more than 35 lbs. may find this trip unsuitable. Be aware that this trip is "on your own", therefore there will be no staff members present while you're on the river. Some cell phone coverage is available. Guests should bring cell phones with them on the trip as they may provide a means of communications in an emergency. We have waterproof containers for sale at check-in. Not all service providers offer coverage in Harpers Ferry.

Your help is needed. Please carpool as much as possible. We have very limited parking, especially on weekends. Besides, it's good for the environment.

Alcohol is not permitted on the river or in C&O Canal National Park. The inappropriate actions of a few have caused the Park Service to strictly enforce this policy. People under the influence of alcohol may also be detained by park rangers. We will not transport people appearing to be under the influence or people carrying alcohol into the park.

Alcohol is NOT permitted on river trips. Respect the river, other guests, and yourself!
