Guide Assisted Whitewater Kayaking / Duckies
white water kayaking on tkhe Shenandoah and River in Harpers Ferry, West VirginiaThe guide assisted kayaking trip follows the same path as the rafts down the last reaches of the Shenandoah River. The trip includes slow water solitude and whitewater action. In slow water watch for ospreys, great blue herons, and bald eagles; enjoy the beauty of the Blue Ridge. But be ready for thrills and spills as you charge over “Bull Falls” and whoosh through “Bull’s Tail”, before heading through the Shenandoah’s mile-long “Staircase” rapid. Take in the history and scenery of the Shenandoah River as you float past Harpers Ferry National Historic Park between the soaring cliffs of Maryland and Loudon Heights, where you join the mighty Potomac. On the Potomac watch out for the snarl of the “Mad Dog” and hold onto your boots as you ride the wild “White Horse.”

white water kayaking on the Shenandoah River in Harpers Ferry, West Virginia The Harpers Ferry area offers a perfect playground for aspiring thrill seekers when they paddle our single-person or two-person inflatable kayaks (duckies). Two person duckies work well for one adult and one child. This is a great way to take your under 12 year old. River Riders has an armada of these small, quick, and maneuverable crafts waiting to rouse you.
Are you ready to test your skills, your strength, and your courage, or do you just want to impress friends at the office?
Your guide(s) will help you quickly master your craft before leading the way through the holes, tongues, waves, rooster tails, and ledge drops of the Shenandoah and Potomac Rivers.

Perfect for the more adventurous guest.

Guided kayaking can be combined with Biking for a full day or two day adventure.
